High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

 

We work in partnership with the High Commissioner for Refugees in the project of self-reliance through training, rehabilitation and the granting of good loans for Somali refugees. The work was identified as follows:

 

First: – in the field of rehabilitation, training and imparting skills

A number of training courses were held for the development of technical and professional capacity in the following areas:

1. How to establish small enterprises

.2. Skills development of small enterprises.

3. Courses in acquiring skills in the following fields:- Mobile Maintenance .- Sewing.- Maintenance of cars electricity.- Freedom from illiteracy.

 

Second: in the field of granting good loans

Many of female refugees were given good loans and interest-free during the years 2007 -2008 as well as 2009-2010 in order to do their own projects.

 

Third: A nursery was equipped for refugees children.

 

Fourth: We are preparing for the establishment of an association for refugee women owners of small enterprises.
